LEDGER / COOKIES13 ROWS
Two keys run by default. Every ad cookie waits for your Allow.
This site sells 3D CAD software and buys search ads to find engineers who want it. Below is each cookie and storage key it can set, written as a ledger: what the row is, what it means in plain words, and why it applies. Prose is kept for what a table cannot hold.
Effective date
Clause C-00This cookie notice takes effect on October 6, 2026. It sits beside the privacy policy, which covers the inquiry form, the chat and the logs. This page covers only what lands in your browser.
Categories in use
3 categories| Clause | In plain words | Why it applies |
|---|---|---|
| C-01Strictly necessary | Remembers your cookie choice and holds the token that reconnects you to an open support chat. | Without them the banner reappears on every page and a chat thread is lost on reload. They run without consent and carry no advertising data. |
| C-02Analytics | Counts visits and which pages were read, for example how many people opened the assembly benchmark. | Tells us which documentation is used. Set only after Allow, controlled by analytics_storage. |
| C-03Advertising | Links an ad click to a later enquiry so the platform can report which campaign worked. | We pay for clicks on Google, Microsoft and Meta. Set only after Allow, controlled by ad_storage. |

Ad platforms and click identifiers
3 platforms| Platform | Identifier added | What happens to it |
|---|---|---|
| AD-01Google Ads | gclid |
Read from the address and stored in _gcl_au or _gcl_aw only after Allow. Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC. |
| AD-02Microsoft Advertising | msclkid |
Stored in _uetmsclkid only after Allow. Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd. |
| AD-03Meta Ads | fbclid |
Stored in _fbc only after Allow, where a Meta campaign runs. Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. |
Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising and Meta Ads send traffic to this site today. Someone searching "solidworks alternative" or "inventor alternative" clicks an ad, and the platform appends its identifier to the link. Decline, and the identifier sits in the address bar for that page view and goes nowhere.
Consent Mode v2 signals
4 signals| Signal | Default | After Allow | After Decline or withdrawal |
|---|---|---|---|
| CM-01ad_storage | denied | granted | denied |
| CM-02ad_user_data | denied | granted | denied |
| CM-03ad_personalization | denied | granted | denied |
| CM-04analytics_storage | denied | granted | denied |
Google Consent Mode v2 is set before any tag fires. All four signals begin denied. Allow switches them to granted; Decline, or a later withdrawal, sets them back to denied at that moment and the page stops writing ad and analytics cookies. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, the signals stay denied and the banner does not ask.
Giving, changing and withdrawing consent
Clause C-05The banner sits at the bottom of the screen on your first visit. It does not block the page; you can read the documentation and ignore it, and nothing optional runs while it waits. Press Allow to grant all four signals, or Decline to keep them denied.
To change your mind later, use Cookie settings in the footer of any page, or the button below. Clearing site data in your browser also resets the choice. The record expires after 6 months and the banner asks again.
Your current choice is stored under site_consent_v2. Reopen the banner to change it now.
If you decline
Clause C-06| Feature | After Decline | Why |
|---|---|---|
| R-01Pages, docs, Fit Check | Work in full | None of them needs a cookie. |
| R-02Inquiry form and chat | Work in full | They use only the strictly necessary keys. |
| R-03Ad and analytics cookies | Stop | All four signals denied; no identifier is stored or sent back. |
You will still see our ads elsewhere. Declining stops measurement on this site, not the platforms' own targeting, which you control in your Google, Microsoft or Meta account.
