DOC SWS-LEGAL-01 / PRIVACYVERSION 3.0PAGE 1 OF 1

This site keeps an enquiry 36 months, a chat 6 months, and sells none of it.

Solldworkss sells 3D CAD software for mechanical engineers. The product itself runs on your own Windows machine and sends nothing home. This policy covers the website: the inquiry form, the support chat, the server logs and the advertising tags that run once you allow them.

01

Effective date

This policy takes effect on October 6, 2026 and is version 3.0. It replaces every earlier version from that date. Where a clause below quotes a period, the clock starts on the day the data reached us, not on this date.

02

Who controls the data

The controller is Solld Workss, trading as Solldworkss at solld-workss.click. Postal address: 94 Industrial Blvd, Büro 5, Austin, Texas 68171, United States. Email [email protected], phone +1 (272) 555-1922.

There is one office and one team. The people who read your enquiry are the same people who answer support for the modeller. No reseller sits in between.

03

What the site takes

Five sources, and nothing outside them.

  • The inquiry form. It writes your name, phone, email, address, the kind of enquiry, your message, the specification you asked about and the consent tick. With it, automatically: your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, the referring URL, the moment the form was rendered and the moment it was sent.
  • The support chat. We keep the conversation, plus any name, phone or email you choose to give. A token sits in your browser's local storage so you can come back to the same thread.
  • Server and access logs. IP address, requested path, time, status code and user-agent, written by the web server for every request.
  • Cookie and storage identifiers. Your consent choice under site_consent_v2. After you allow storage, the identifiers set by Google, Microsoft and Meta tags, listed one by one on the cookie ledger.
  • Advertising click identifiers. When you arrive from a paid ad, the link carries gclid, msclkid or fbclid in the address.

There is no account, no password, no payment and no card data. Nothing is sold on this site and no payment is taken here. Licences are invoiced after a quote, outside the website.

04

What each piece is used for

Form data is used to answer you: a quote for Standard or Professional seats, a floating-licence sizing, a trial key. The address only matters when you ask for a shipped quote. Chat data is used to answer the question in the chat and nothing else.

Logs exist to keep the server up and to spot abuse. We read them when something breaks or when a script hammers the form.

Advertising identifiers tell us which campaign produced a visit and whether that visit turned into an enquiry. That is measurement. We do not build profiles, and we do not sell or rent any list.

05

Legal basis for each purpose

For visitors from Europe the GDPR asks for a stated basis. Here it is, purpose by purpose.

Purposes and their legal basis
PurposeDataBasis
Answering an enquiry, preparing a quoteForm fields, timestampsSteps before a contract, at your request
Answering a chatTranscript, token, optional contactConsent, given in the chat
Keeping the site running, blocking abuseServer logs, IP, user-agentLegitimate interest
Ad measurement and analyticsClick identifiers, ad cookiesConsent, through the banner
Remembering your cookie choicesite_consent_v2Legitimate interest, and a legal duty to honour the choice
06

Paid advertising that sends traffic here

We buy clicks. People searching for a solidworks alternative or a CAD perpetual licence with no subscription find us through Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising and Meta Ads, and those platforms send that traffic here today.

  • Google Ads adds gclid to the link you click.
  • Microsoft Advertising adds msclkid.
  • Meta Ads adds fbclid, where a campaign runs there.

The identifier arrives in the address bar whatever you choose. It is only written to a cookie and reported back to the platform after you press Allow.

07

Consent Mode v2

Every page loads with Google Consent Mode v2 set to deny. Four signals start as denied: ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage. They stay denied until you press Allow in the banner. Press Decline, or withdraw later through Cookie settings in the footer, and all four go back to denied at that moment.

While they are denied, the tags may send cookieless pings without identifiers. The full signal table sits on the cookie page.

08

Who else receives data

  • Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC for Google Ads. Receives gclid and the consent signals.
  • Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd for Microsoft Advertising. Receives msclkid. Its handling is covered by the Microsoft privacy statement at privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement.
  • Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd for Meta Ads. Receives fbclid where a campaign runs there.
  • Our hosting provider, which serves this site and stores the enquiry database.
  • Our mail provider, which carries the notification of a new enquiry to our inbox.

That is the whole list. No data broker, no list rental, no enrichment service.

09

Transfers across borders

We operate from Texas. If you write to us from Europe, your data travels to the United States. The ad platforms above move data between their Irish entities and the US. Those transfers rest on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified under it, and on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses where it is not.

10

How long we keep it

Retention periods
CategoryKept forThen
Enquiries and their email copies36 monthsDeleted from database and inbox
Chat transcripts6 monthsDeleted
Server and access logs90 daysRotated out
Record of a consent choice6 monthsBanner asks again

Thirty-six months covers a typical procurement cycle for a seat upgrade or a floating-licence renewal. If you become a customer, the invoice record is kept separately for as long as tax law requires.

11

Security

Every page and every form post runs over HTTPS. The enquiry store is not reachable from the public web, and access to it is limited to named staff behind individual logins. Honeypot fields and a render-time check filter scripted spam before it is stored. No system is immune, and if a breach touches your data we tell you and the relevant authority without undue delay.

12

Your rights under the GDPR

If you reach this site from Europe, the GDPR gives you these rights over what we hold:

  • Access: a copy of everything held about you.
  • Rectification: correction of anything wrong.
  • Erasure: deletion, unless a law requires us to keep it.
  • Restriction: we keep it but stop using it.
  • Portability: your form data in a machine-readable file.
  • Objection: to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Withdrawing consent at any time, through Cookie settings in the footer or by email, without affecting what happened before.
13

Your rights under US state law

Residents of California have rights under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA: to know what is collected, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of its sale or sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising, and to limit use of sensitive data. We collect no sensitive data. Residents of the other states with privacy laws in force, including Texas, Virginia, Colorado and Connecticut, hold comparable rights. We do not sell personal information for money. Allowing ad cookies may count as sharing under California law, so Decline, Cookie settings and Global Privacy Control all act as an opt-out. Using a right never costs you a different price or worse service.

14

Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal (the Sec-GPC header), we treat it as an opt-out of sale and sharing. The four consent signals stay denied, ad tags set no identifiers, and we do not ask you again.

15

Children

This is a site for engineering software bought by businesses and universities. It is not meant for children under 16 and we do not knowingly take data from them. Educational seats go to accredited students verified by a university email domain. If a child's data reaches us, write and we delete it.

16

Complaints

Write to us first; most problems are fixed in a day. You can also complain to the Attorney General of your state, and in California to the California Privacy Protection Agency. Visitors from Europe may complain to the data protection authority in the country where they live or work.

17

Data request: how to use these rights

Email [email protected] with the subject line "Data request", or post a letter to Solld Workss, 94 Industrial Blvd, Büro 5, Austin, Texas 68171, United States. Say which right you are using and give the email or phone you used on the form, so we can find the record.

We answer within 7 days. If we need to confirm it is you, we reply to the address already on file rather than asking for an ID document. An authorised agent may act for you with your signed permission.

What you get back

Access requests receive a plain file listing every enquiry and chat tied to your email or phone, with timestamps. Erasure requests receive a confirmation of what was deleted, and from where.

18

Accessibility statement

We build this site to WCAG 2.2 level AA. Every page works with a keyboard alone, has a skip link, one heading structure, visible focus in the signal orange, and tap targets of at least 44 pixels. Layouts reflow from a 320-pixel phone to an ultrawide desktop without sideways scrolling. Animations stop when your system asks for reduced motion.

Known gaps: the range slider in the Fit Check reads its value only after you leave it in some screen readers, so a number box sits beside it. A few compatibility tables are wide and scroll inside their own box on small screens.

Hit a barrier? Email [email protected] or call +1 (272) 555-1922 and we send the content in another format and fix the page.

19

Changes to this policy

A change is published on this page with a new version number and effective date in the masthead above. If it widens what we collect or who receives it, the consent banner appears again so you can choose afresh. We do not apply a wider use to data taken under an older version.
